Food Hygiene Rating for Mtr 1924

The restaurant is not bad. Considering they're only 2 weeks old and one of it's kind, the restaurant was very busy. The service was quick and efficient. The food is good and the staff look confused because of the rush, but are polite.rnrnThe menu is your standard breakfast options, so if you're looking for batting of oota ( devouring a thaali meal) @MTR, you maybe a little disappointed.rnrnThe presentation of the food could definitely do with some improvement. The kesari bath did not hold the iconic circular shape ( if you're from Bengaluru, you'll know what I mean) and the delicious - melt in the mouth Badam halwa, which is also their USP was just smeared into a bowl. Now if this was my specialty, I as a home cook would have definitely put some effort into the presentation. rnrnAlso, they don't have sugarless coffee. Now that flummoxed me. How? And why not? The coffee tasted sickly sweet and tasted more like payasa/kheer/sweet porridge. Please have the option of sugarless coffee, people can always sweeten their coffee the way they like it. We're not in Australia! BTW, heard of diabetes?rnrnWhat also disappointed me a little is that there is no signage in Kannada. Now, let me be very clear - I am not offended, but definitely a tad bit disappointed because if I visit a Gujarati restaurant, there's always something written in Gujarati, Chinese restaurants will also have some signage in their language and so on. At MTR there are some lovely photographs of the olden times but some Kannada signage will also strum the right strings in your heart.rnOverall, visiting MTR 1924 was a lovely experience. It felt close to home because it'll always be Namma MTRrnrnrn
